How to work with publish setting

Publish Settings command is use to format and specify settings before publishing.

Step 1

Choose File and then click the Publish Settings.

Publish Settings dialog box will appear as below picture:

Click the check boxes if you want to change the format in the Formats tab. Specify Publish Settings for each format as described in the following sections

Choose Flash tab

Load Order is use to determine how layers are loaded for the first frame. Load Order affects only the first frame.

Generate Size Report is use to produce a text file that useful as a guide for minimizing the file size of the movie. This size report shows how many bytes and various parts of your movie that use in the final Flash Player file. The report has the same name as the exported movie, but it is with a .txt extension.

Protect From Import is use to prevent the Flash Player movie from being downloaded from the web and imported back into Flash.

Omit Trace Actions is use to make Flash ignore the trace statement in the current movie. Trace will causes Flash to open an output window to display certain content.

JPEG Quality is use to determine the amount of JPEG file compression applied to any bitmaps contained in your file. Lower image quality produces smaller files, while higher image quality produces larger files.

Audio Stream and Audio Event is use to specify the rate and compression for exported stream and event sounds.

Override Sound Settings is use to make the settings in this dialog box override settings defined in the Sound Properties dialog box for individual sounds. This option is useful if you want to create a larger high fidelity audio movie for local use, and smaller low fidelity version for the web.

Version is use to specify which version of the Flash Player that exported movie will play back on. Flash 5 features do not work in movies exported in earlier versions.

Step 4

Choose HTML tab

Template is use to specify which of the installed templates to use. All of the template files in the HTML folder in the Flash application folder appear on the pop-up menu. For a description of each template, select a template from the pop-up menu and click the Info button to the right. If you don't choose a template Flash, use a template named Default.html. If Default.html is not present, Flash uses the first template on the list.

Dimensions is use set the values of the Width and Height attributes in the object.

Playback is use to assign the values to the Loop, Play, Menu and Devise font parameters in the object and embed tags.

Quality is use to set the value of the quality parameter in the object and embed tags and determines the level of anti-aliasing performed. Because anti-aliasing requires a faster processor to smooth each frame of the movie before it is rendered on the viewer's screen; the quality parameter assigns priorities to appearance and playback speed.

Window Mode (Windows only) is use to set the WMODE parameter of the object tag, which lets you take advantage of the transparent movie, absolute positioning, and layering capabilities available in Internet Explorer 4.0. This option works only in the Windows version of Internet Explorer with the Flash Active X control.

Alignment is use to specify the align attribute for the object, embed and IMG tags. It also uses to determine how the Flash movie window is positioned within the browser window.

Scale is use to determine the value of the scale parameter in the object and embed tags. It also can define how the movie is placed within the boundaries you specify in the Width and Height fields. These settings apply only if you enter a width and height setting different from the movie's original size.

Flash Alignment is use to set the align parameter of the object and embed tags. The settings you choose from the Horizontal and Vertical pop-up menu determine how the movie is placed within the movie window. It must be cropped to fit that window, how it is cropped. Choose Left, Center or Right from the Horizontal pop-up menu; and Top, Center, or Bottom from the Vertical pop-up menu.

Show Warning Messages is use to determine if Flash displays error messages warning of conflicts in tag settings. For example, an error message would appear if a template includes code referring to an alternate image that you have not specified.
